OOC Rules

While 18+, this is still a SFW venue, inasmuch as ERP and nudity aren't allowed. if you absolutely can't refrain from ERP, keep it to tells or party chat.
With the above said, things are still allowed to be a little sensual, and definitely mature while we're open. Talk about whatever you'd like, but if it's going to be potentially disturbing, please take it to tells or party chat. Use common sense for this, stuff like explicit mentions of noncon, for example.
Drop any OOC drama at the door. This is meant to be a safe and inclusive space for all of our guests.
No OOC bigotry. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and ageism are just a few of what won't be tolerated.
Be mindful of spoilers! While it is safe to assume that this venue is taking place in time with MSQ, it isn't safe to assume that all of your fellow guests are caught up! Be conscious of sprouts!
Lore-bending is A-OK!
This RP space is intended to be immersive. OOC messages should be enclosed in brackets or parentheses. Tips are always welcome, but no real gil is expected. All exchanges are entirely IC.
Our doors are always open, so feel free to come in outside of regular hours! Just be mindful that the above rules still apply.

IC Rules

Don't start fights indoors. Take it outside, please. This furniture was rather costly, and Elyas will step in to finish the fight.
It's fine if you don't finish your drink or food, just deposit it at the counter. We'll take care of it.
Clean up after yourself. Don't leave a mess on the tables or other furnishings. We don't like to stay long after closing.
This is a dry establishment. Please refrain from bringing alcohol onto the premises. If you do BYOB and are caught by an employee, you'll have to drink a Black Cat's Concoction. Gods help you, it's not worth it.
No smoking indoors.
Even if you don't see a drink on the menu, ask us. Our procurement specialist is rather skilled, and we have much on hand that goes unused.
Do not say the words "Doctor Artellius Ralverd," in that full sequence. I beg of you.
Be careful throwing around colors or elements next to nouns that could describe someone. Likewise, please don't call people "monsters" here.
If an employee asks you to leave, please leave. You will be removed through force if necessary.

Juices & Sodas

A variety of fruit juices are available at Refraction. All are served without alcohol, and these juices can be mixed upon request.Such juices include (but are not limited to) orange, apple, rolanberry, grape, strawberry, kiwi, pomegranate, mango, and peach.
Juices are available sparkling upon request, as well as plain water.- Regret: Water with chili pepper flakes and a single ice cube. Guaranteed to give you its namesake.- The Birch Twin: Birch beer mixed with apple and lime. An acquired taste.- The Good Doctor: Just straight seltzer. May be randomly flavored.- Fisherman's Chum: Straight tomato juice with some stuff (a celery stick and... some other stuff) in it.- Pebble's Punch: Mango and apple juice over crushed ice. Has a rather punchy feeling to it.- Who Put This On The Menu?: A suspiciously bright green, lemon-lime soda. Caffeinated beyond belief. No, seriously, how did this get here?- The Wanderlost: A tall glass of root beer, with a refreshing scoop of vanilla ice cream atop. May give you the urge to... wander.- The Jinhai: A tall glass of pineapple soda, with a refreshing scoop of vanilla ice cream atop. This might just be the friendliest looking drink you've ever seen.

Coffee, Cocoa & Tea

A pot of coffee and a kettle of tea water are kept warm at all times. Should you have preference as to cream, sugar, or flavor, those can be catered to. Our regular coffee blend changes each week.- Coco's Cocoa: Hot chocolate flavored of rolanberry and vanilla. Guaranteed to make even the most cold-hearted soul warm up. On loan from our friends at the Glorianda.- Husband Material: A layer of rolanberry tea atop peaflower, with boba and blueberries inside. The pink sits atop the blue like a certain kind-hearted Raen's hair.- The Sellsword: A blackberry tea with boba pearls. The drink may ooze a bit when the straw punctures the film. Comes with a free pass to call Elyas "boss," but only once.

Snacks & Desserts

Every week we bring freshly made desserts.For cookies, there are peanut butter, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, soft molasses, and snickerdoodles.For cakes there are vanilla, chocolate, and marbled cakes, each with vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or lemon frosting.There are also a variety of small pastries available, such as strudel, apple turnovers, fruit pies, and croissants.A small variety of other sort of snacks are also on offer, such as frozen fruit juice treats, pretzels, apple slices, and crackers.- The Receptionist: A fluffy slice of strawberry shortcake, topped with pink icing and gold sugar sprinkles. May occasionally have a swear or two written in cursive, in the frosting.- The Icicle: An icy blue popsicle on a stick. It's far too cold to discern any flavor, beyond a slight hint of mint.- The Beastmaster: A variety of animal shaped crackers with frosting on the side. Comes with a free lesson in zoology should you ask Khadak what shapes the crackers are in!

Special Snacks

- The Angelo: A piece of white cake with vanilla frosting and a creamy filling in the center. May leave you feeling satisfied but... a little empty inside. (/random -- anything 300 or below leaves you feeling empty and vacant for a little while).- The Blind Bet: A serving of crispy potato snacks, all shaped into the form of playing card suites. May result in an unfortunate loss of gil. (/random -- anything 500 or below and you will be solicited for a small OOC 1,000 gil donation to the Free Company. Please only request this drink if you're willing to cough up).

Special Drinks

- Regional Special (Ishgard) -- Spiced Cider: A bit of cinnamon, a bit of flame, a hearty glass of apple cider. From our hearth to yours in this Coerthan winter.- The Inferno: The elusive drink that smells like a rubbing alcohol but promises that there is not a drop of it in it. Tasting like the fire of ten thousands Ifrits, a Phoenix here and there and a bit of charred fur, this special drink prepared by none other than Mister Nawh'li Theba himself is to die for (literally). Be not afraid. Oh. And Noctua helped. Be afraid. Requires signing a waiver before consumption. (/random -- anything 800 or below causes intense nausea and anything 500 or below causes death).- Dozedrov Tea: A chamomile centric tea blend made to calm even the most nervous of individuals. Warning: May cause drowsiness or sudden slumber. (/random -- anything 500 or below is drowsiness, and anything 200 or below is sleep).- The Louie Swah: A glass of ginger ale, poured into a glass with arcane runes inscribed into the sides. If you don't drain the glass quickly enough, it /will/ combust. One of our bartenders insisted we name a drink after Louisoix. This is my compromise.- Eye For An Eye: The most bitter, black tea ever conceived. If you order this, be prepared to slam it back in competition with the bartender, who will also pour a glass for themself.- Oh, This Is Just Blood: A mysterious, dark red liquid with some hints of iron, and... oh. This is just blood.- Straight Ceruleum: It's literally just straight ceruleum. For the bold, and... aetherically hungry.- The Black Cat's Concoction (The Concoction): A drink made from whatever Elyas decides to throw into their little cauldron. Beware the random effects it can bestow. If you're not comfortable with your effect, let us know and you can roll again!

Elyas Kara

Manager & Bartender

Elyas is the money behind this venture, as well as one of the charming personalities behind the bar. Being sober themself, they wished to create not only an environment where people could easily find dry beverages, but also a cozy little corner away from the hustle and bustle of many more risque bars. Even if things still get risque here and there.Those in the know regarding the profession of adventuring may recognize their name as one of the co-founders of the company Oschon's Journey. Elyas is also known for (along with their partner Kaiyo Mikazuki) being willing to take damn-near any odd job.Elyas hails from the Brume, and can be rather... bombastic as a result.Carrd here.

Landanel Castellot

Manager

Landanel handles much of the management behind the scenes, while also sometimes ducking behind the bar to assist guests. He approached Elyas with the idea for this place, and the two have been business partners since.Those well-versed in Mhachi history or voidsent studies may recognize the surname Castellot -- both as that of a particular family of civil servants, and of a fairly powerful voidsent. They would likely also know that Castellot's counterpart, Gader'el, is rarely far from her side.Landanel is originally from Garlemald, but bears no animosity toward those of Eorzea.Carrd here.

Run by the adventuring company Oschon's Journey, Oschon's Juicebar is intended as a place for adventurers, travelers, and other assorted weary wanderers to stop by for a spell. Located upon the company's airship abode, the venue is oft in a different locale from week to week.Of course, being run by adventurers and catered to adventurers... It's got some unique quirks.

Rumors and The Boxes

Being a place where people from all walks of life find themselves, Our bartenders are keen to no small number of rumors. These rumors can make their way to the ears of your characters, functionally acting as a whisper network for RP hooks.Likewise, the boxes within the shelves on the far wall are full of confidentials. Advertisements, individuals looking for work or assistance, all are welcome to leave a flyer within.Want to share a rumor? Either do so IC and send a tell to the bartender saying it's okay to share, or do so in a tell from the get-go! Want to put something in the boxes? Send the bartender a tell with the information, and they'll set it up!
